About Program
- The Faculty of Open and Distance Education's Russian Language and Literature Distance Education Program is a 4-year undergraduate program that aims to prepare students for the future by enabling them to speak, write, and read Russian, communicate effectively in Russian, translate between Turkish and Russian (both directions), and acquire deep knowledge of Russian culture, literature, and history.
- The program enables students to explain, apply, make decisions, and teach, equipping them with a strong foundation in grammar, phonetics, morphology, and syntax.
Program Objective
- The primary objective of the program is to equip students with the skills to read, write, and speak Russian, and to introduce them to Russian culture, with a focus on literature.
- In line with this objective, the program also aims to continue training individuals who will contribute to building a cultural bridge between Russia and Turkey, thereby helping to foster the relationship between the two countries and cultures.
Program Qualifications
- Students gain comprehensive knowledge about Russian language and literature from its origins to the 21st century, including Russian poetry, theater, novels, and other prose genres, as well as the historical, social, economic, political, philosophical, scientific, and literary developments that influenced these works.
- They acquire foundational and general knowledge about literary genres (their characteristics, examples, and transformations across different periods), and evaluate texts within these contexts.
- Enrollment in the program is possible via the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) and the Türkiye International Student Admission Exam (TR-YÖS). The duration of associate degree programs is 2 years, and undergraduate programs last 4 years.
Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS)
- To enroll in the program, you must take the 2025 YKS administered by ÖSYM, achieve a score in the relevant score type, and select the program during the placement process conducted by ÖSYM.
- Students placed in the program by ÖSYM are granted the right to enroll. To choose an associate degree program, your TYT score from the 2025 YKS must be calculated; to choose an undergraduate program, your score must be calculated in one of the relevant types (SAY, SÖZ, EA).
- You can find information about the 2025 Student Selection and Placement System (ÖSYS) application procedures at www.osym.gov.tr.
Türkiye International Student Admission Exam(TR-YÖS)
- To enroll in the program, you must take the Türkiye International Student Admission Exam (TR-YÖS) administered by ÖSYM and meet the required conditions.
