About Program

  • Sinology is a scientific field that focuses on China and was established to research Turkish history and culture using Chinese sources. In the Sinology Undergraduate Program, courses on Chinese language, history, literature, philosophy, and culture are offered, providing students with foundational knowledge in the field.

 

Program Objective

  • To equip students with knowledge in the Chinese language, history, society, economy, political background, philosophy, and thought systems, as well as science and literature.
  • The goal is to train qualified individuals who will work as academics, researchers, and language experts in the field of Sinology—individuals who possess scientific thinking skills, can use information and technology effectively, and have creative and critical thinking abilities.

 

Program Qualifications

  • Knows historical, scientific, cultural, sociological, and economic events related to Chinese history.
  • Specializes in Chinese language and culture.
  • Learns about Chinese history from ancient times to the present.
  • Can communicate orally in Chinese.
  • Can express their thoughts verbally.
  • Evaluates Chinese history using Sinological methods.

 

  • Enrollment in the program is possible via the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) and the Türkiye International Student Admission Exam (TR-YÖS). The duration of associate degree programs is 2 years, and undergraduate programs last 4 years.

 

Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS)

  • To enroll in the program, you must take the 2025 YKS administered by ÖSYM, achieve a score in the relevant score type, and select the program during the placement process conducted by ÖSYM.
  • Students placed in the program by ÖSYM are granted the right to enroll. To choose an associate degree program, your TYT score from the 2025 YKS must be calculated; to choose an undergraduate program, your score must be calculated in one of the relevant types (SAY, SÖZ, EA).

LEARNING PROCESS

  • Courses in distance education programs are conducted through the e-learning system both synchronously (live classes) and asynchronously.
  • After logging into the Campus Information Management System (https://obs.ankara.edu.tr), you can click on the “Access ANKUZEF LMS” link to navigate to the ANKUZEF Learning Management System (https://oys.ankara.edu.tr) and access your course areas.
  • Course materials are provided electronically within the system. No printed materials (such as textbooks or lecture notes) are distributed.

EXAMS AND IMPLEMENTATION

  • In each academic semester, the faculty administers a Midterm Exam, a Final Exam, and a Make-up Exam. Additionally, students who have completed all but a maximum of three courses and have fulfilled all other program requirements are granted the right to take the “Three-Course Graduation Exam.”
  • Midterm and Final Exams:

    Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Diyarbakir, Erzurum, Istanbul (European and Anatolian), Izmir, Konya, Samsun, Trabzon, Van and Germany (Cologne) exam centers,

    Make-up Exams:
    Adana, Ankara, Diyarbakir, Istanbul (European and Anatolian), Izmir, Trabzon exam centers are held face to face in 4 sessions on Saturday and Sunday mornings and afternoons. Students will take the exams at the centers they have chosen before the exams.

  • Make-up Exams are conducted in selected cities in four sessions across two days (morning and afternoon). Students take the exams at centers they chose in advance.
  • All exams consist of multiple-choice questions. Each course consists of 20 questions, and each exam session lasts 30 minutes.

 

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

  • To graduate successfully, students must fulfill the conditions specified in the “Ankara University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Training Regulations.” All courses in the program must be completed, and all obligations must be fulfilled.
  • The General Academic Grade Point Average (GPA) must be at least 2.00 out of 4.00. A total of 240 ECTS is required for undergraduate degrees.
  • Diplomas are issued by the “Ankara University Faculty of Open and Distance Education” and provide all the legal rights granted by other undergraduate degrees.

TUITION AND MATERIAL FEES

  • Candidates placed in the program must select their courses at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters on the dates specified in the academic calendar and pay the designated tuition and material fees.
  • Fees are determined by Presidential Decree No. 8703 and Ankara University Executive Board decisions.

About Program

  • The Faculty of Open and Distance Education's Russian Language and Literature Distance Education Program is a 4-year undergraduate program that aims to prepare students for the future by enabling them to speak, write, and read Russian, communicate effectively in Russian, translate between Turkish and Russian (both directions), and acquire deep knowledge of Russian culture, literature, and history.
  • The program enables students to explain, apply, make decisions, and teach, equipping them with a strong foundation in grammar, phonetics, morphology, and syntax.

 

Program Objective

  • The primary objective of the program is to equip students with the skills to read, write, and speak Russian, and to introduce them to Russian culture, with a focus on literature.
  • In line with this objective, the program also aims to continue training individuals who will contribute to building a cultural bridge between Russia and Turkey, thereby helping to foster the relationship between the two countries and cultures.

 

Program Qualifications

  • Students gain comprehensive knowledge about Russian language and literature from its origins to the 21st century, including Russian poetry, theater, novels, and other prose genres, as well as the historical, social, economic, political, philosophical, scientific, and literary developments that influenced these works.
  • They acquire foundational and general knowledge about literary genres (their characteristics, examples, and transformations across different periods), and evaluate texts within these contexts.

EXAMS AND IMPLEMENTATION

  • In each academic semester, the faculty administers a Midterm Exam, a Final Exam, and a Make-up Exam. Additionally, students who have completed all but a maximum of three courses and have fulfilled all other program requirements are granted the right to take the “Three-Course Graduation Exam.”
  • Midterm and Final Exams:

    Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Diyarbakir, Erzurum, Istanbul (European and Anatolian), Izmir, Konya, Samsun, Trabzon, Van and Germany (Cologne) exam centers,

    Make-up Exams:
    Adana, Ankara, Diyarbakir, Istanbul (European and Anatolian), Izmir, Trabzon exam centers are held face to face in 4 sessions on Saturday and Sunday mornings and afternoons. Students will take the exams at the centers they have chosen before the exams.

  • Make-up Exams are conducted in selected cities in four sessions across two days (morning and afternoon). Students take the exams at centers they chose in advance.
  • All exams consist of multiple-choice questions. Each course consists of 20 questions, and each exam session lasts 30 minutes.

 

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

  • To graduate successfully, students must fulfill the conditions specified in the “Ankara University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Training Regulations.” All courses in the program must be completed, and all obligations must be fulfilled.
  • The General Academic Grade Point Average (GPA) must be at least 2.00 out of 4.00. A total of 240 ECTS is required for undergraduate degrees.
  • Diplomas are issued by the “Ankara University Faculty of Open and Distance Education” and provide all the legal rights granted by other undergraduate degrees.

TUITION AND MATERIAL FEES

  • Candidates placed in the program must select their courses at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters on the dates specified in the academic calendar and pay the designated tuition and material fees.
  • Fees are determined by Presidential Decree No. 8703 and Ankara University Executive Board decisions.

About Program

  • The English Language and Literature Distance Education Program of the Faculty of Open and Distance Education is a 4-year undergraduate program that aims to provide students with a contemporary perspective in cultural studies and literature by offering courses in various genres and periods of English literature. The program examines English literature beyond national boundaries, analyzing literary works produced in English within their historical and political contexts. It includes courses on text analysis, criticism, American literature, and comparative literature, addressing literary and cultural topics with innovative approaches and methods aligned with current conditions.

 

Program Objective

  • Başlangıcından günümüze dek İngiliz şiiri, tiyatrosu, romanı ve diğer düzyazı türleri ve bu yapıtların içinde şekillendiği kültürel, tarihsel, toplumsal, ekonomik, siyasi, felsefi, bilimsel ve edebi gelişmeler konusunda bilgi sahibi, bilimsel düşünme biçimini benimseyen, bilgi ve teknolojilerini etkin olarak kullanan, yaratıcı ve eleştirel düşünebilen ve kamu yararlarını gözeten İngiliz Dili ve Edebiyatı alanında akademisyen ve dil uzmanı olarak görev yapacak nitelikli bireyler yetiştirmek.

 

Program Qualifications

  • To educate qualified individuals who will work as academics and language specialists in the field of English Language and Literature, who are knowledgeable about English poetry, theatre, novel, and other prose genres from their beginnings to the present day, as well as about the cultural, historical, social, economic, political, philosophical, scientific, and literary developments in which these works have been shaped. These individuals will adopt scientific ways of thinking, use information and technologies effectively, and think creatively and critically while considering public interest.

 

  • Enrollment in the program is possible via the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) and the Türkiye International Student Admission Exam (TR-YÖS). The duration of associate degree programs is 2 years, and undergraduate programs last 4 years.

  • To enroll in the program, you must take the 2025 YKS administered by ÖSYM, achieve a score in the relevant score type, and select the program during the placement process conducted by ÖSYM.

About Program

  • The Faculty of Open and Distance Education’s Radio, Television, and Cinema Distance Education Program is a 4-year undergraduate program that aims to train individuals who will conduct creative and developmental work in fields related to radio, television, and cinema; who are theoretically well-equipped; who can comprehend technological developments in the field and use technology effectively and efficiently. The program employs teaching methods that offer flexibility in terms of time, space, and learning pace.
  • It aims to cultivate students with a solid theoretical foundation in radio, television, cinema, and related fields; the ability to utilize field-specific research methods and techniques and to obtain scientific data; the capability to produce work in visual-auditory application fields; an understanding of legal regulations and procedures in the field of communication; interdisciplinary research and knowledge accumulation skills; a critical perspective; the ability to produce original work; and sensitivity to professional ethics.

 

Program Objective

  • To train communication professionals who are sensitive to society, humanity, and social developments; who are aware of the societal importance and public responsibility of visual-auditory communication; and who can perform their profession critically and creatively in line with technological changes and social transformations, while prioritizing the public interest.

 

Program Qualifications

  • Graduates will be able to identify and effectively evaluate the necessary data for work in the field of Radio and Television Technology; they will be familiar with the technical concepts required by the profession and be able to carry out the corresponding tasks accordingly.
  • They will be capable of applying the theoretical knowledge they have learned in practice; they will be able to comprehend and clearly express the work they conduct both within and outside their field.
  • They will be proficient in using technical equipment, such as cameras, audio equipment, lighting, and editing software, and capable of shooting both in-studio and on-location.

LEARNING PROCESS

  • Courses in distance education programs are conducted through the e-learning system both synchronously (live classes) and asynchronously.
  • After logging into the Campus Information Management System (https://obs.ankara.edu.tr), you can click on the “Access ANKUZEF LMS” link to navigate to the ANKUZEF Learning Management System (https://oys.ankara.edu.tr) and access your course areas.
  • Course materials are provided electronically within the system. No printed materials (such as textbooks or lecture notes) are distributed.

EXAMS AND IMPLEMENTATION

  • In each academic semester, the faculty administers a Midterm Exam, a Final Exam, and a Make-up Exam. Additionally, students who have completed all but a maximum of three courses and have fulfilled all other program requirements are granted the right to take the “Three-Course Graduation Exam.”
  • Midterm and Final Exams:

    Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Diyarbakir, Erzurum, Istanbul (European and Anatolian), Izmir, Konya, Samsun, Trabzon, Van and Germany (Cologne) exam centers,

    Make-up Exams:
    Adana, Ankara, Diyarbakir, Istanbul (European and Anatolian), Izmir, Trabzon exam centers are held face to face in 4 sessions on Saturday and Sunday mornings and afternoons. Students will take the exams at the centers they have chosen before the exams.

  • Make-up Exams are conducted in selected cities in four sessions across two days (morning and afternoon). Students take the exams at centers they chose in advance.
  • All exams consist of multiple-choice questions. Each course consists of 20 questions, and each exam session lasts 30 minutes.

 

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

  • To graduate successfully, students must fulfill the conditions specified in the “Ankara University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Training Regulations.” All courses in the program must be completed, and all obligations must be fulfilled.
  • The General Academic Grade Point Average (GPA) must be at least 2.00 out of 4.00. A total of 240 ECTS is required for undergraduate degrees.
  • Diplomas are issued by the “Ankara University Faculty of Open and Distance Education” and provide all the legal rights granted by other undergraduate degrees.

TUITION AND MATERIAL FEES

  • Candidates placed in the program must select their courses at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters on the dates specified in the academic calendar and pay the designated tuition and material fees.
  • Fees are determined by Presidential Decree No. 8703 and Ankara University Executive Board decisions.

About Program

  • The Faculty of Open and Distance Education’s Journalism Distance Education Program aims to train the future communicators by equipping them with fundamental knowledge and skills related to communication studies through a participatory approach and student-centered educational methods. It also seeks to create environments and opportunities where students can apply this knowledge and these skills to real life. This 4-year undergraduate program aims to help students develop essential social skills, including skills, including self-criticism, benefiting from others’ feedback, and taking initiative. It also fosters intellectual and social environments that encourage them to perform their profession conscientiously, upholding human dignity and awareness of social issues.

Program Objective

  • To educate journalists and communication professionals who are sensitive to society, humanity, and social developments; who are aware of the societal importance and public responsibility of journalism; and who can practice their profession critically and creatively in line with technological changes and social transformations.

 

Program Qualifications

  • The Journalism Program possesses sufficient competence in both theoretical and practical terms. It is proficient in conceptualizations related to the field of communication and can analyze institutions and practices in this field.

 

  • Enrollment in the program is possible via the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) and the Türkiye International Student Admission Exam (TR-YÖS). The duration of associate degree programs is 2 years, and undergraduate programs last 4 years.

 

Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS)

  • To enroll in the program, you must take the 2025 YKS administered by ÖSYM, achieve a score in the relevant score type, and select the program during the placement process conducted by ÖSYM.
  • Students placed in the program by ÖSYM are granted the right to enroll. To choose an associate degree program, your TYT score from the 2025 YKS must be calculated; to choose an undergraduate program, your score must be calculated in one of the relevant types (SAY, SÖZ, EA).

Türkiye International Student Admission Exam(TR-YÖS)

ACADEMIC CALENDAR
